GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
A fair export business was done last week from Lyttelton in all departments. The bulk of the grain and potatoes was for coastwise ports, but the greater portion of the seed was sent to the Home markets in fulfilment of orders. The exports for the week included :— 2530 sacks wheat, 1021 sacks and 1571 bags flour, 666 sacks oats, 35 sacks barley, 983 sacks malt, 494 sacks pollard and sharps, 813 sacks bran, 63 sacks meal, 3594 sacks seed, 98 sacks peas, 109 sacks beans, 70 sacks tares, 68 sacks chicory, 10 sacks Unseed, 1085 sacks chaff, 4372 bales oatsheaves, 187 bales hay and straw, 8080 sacks potatoes, 283 gunnies onions, 110 boxes butter, 8 cases cheese, 43 cases bacon and hams, 49,386 carcases mutton and lamb, 251 casks tallow, 432 bales wool, 16 bdls hidea, §0 bales basils, 32 casks pelts, 28 kegs casings, 1 bdl pigskins, 12 bales crops, 5 bales hair, 10 sacks bones, 90 bales leather, 6 bales rabbitskins, 53 bales flax, 324 boxes Boap, 7 crates poultry, 33 cases eggs and 25 cases fruit. - ____^^_______ —
