THE ARAWA AND TAINUI.
By the English mail' just to hand tho Wellington representatives of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have (says the Post) received confirmation- of the news that the s.s. Tainui has been chartered to the Spanish authorities for »the conveyance of. troops to Cuba. Captain Evans, of the Arawai has had to resign his post on that vessel, owing to ill-health, and Mr Smith, chief officer, is now in command. The Bame letter convoys the information that there haß been an epidemic on board the Arawa, doubtless due to the not overcleanly habits of tho Spanish seamen who now man the vessel.
