A circular was received by the Wellington Education Board yesterday from the Education Department, intimating that the Minister of Justice cannot allow a police officer to accept an appointment as truant officer, though, constables would continue to render all possible assistance in the enforcement of the School Attendance Act. After a brief discussion the Board decided to consider the matter at next meeting.
