EASTER SERVICES.

Although the weather was most unfavourable there Were very good congregations at all the Easter services yesterday. THE CATHEDRAL. . At the Cathedral there were two early celebrations of the Holy Communion, the Eevs W. Dunkley and F. Knowles being the celebrants. At eleven o'clock the service was full choral, the anthem being "Worthy is the Lamb." The Eev Canon Harper preached from St Peter i., 1 to 32. At evensong the anthem was "Worthy is the :Lamb," and the Eev F. A. Hare preached !from St John v., 24. . ; '_■ ■'.*' st luke's. ■ St Luke's church was tastefully decorated with pot plants, toi toi, raupo, flax, bracken and red and white flowers. The vicar, the Yen Archdeacon Lingard, preached at both morning and evening services. . st John's, latimer square. . There was an early communion at this Church on Easter Day, and another celebration at the eleven o'clock service, which was very well attended. The usual Easter offerings were made to the absent Vicar, the Eev H. C. M. Watson. The sermons were preached by Archdeacon Allnutt. In the evening; the, Archdeacon preached on one of the special psalms of the day. The decoration were carried out by ladies of the congregation, and were very effective. The music, under the leadership of MrWatkins,was appropriate. st Michael's. The services at St Michael's yesterday commenced with a celebration of Holy Communion' at six o'clock, followed by celebrations at 7.30 a.m., 9.45 a.m., and 12.15 p.m. The service at 11 a.m. was conducted by the vicar. A children's service conducted by the Eev H. E. Ensor, was held at 3 p.m., and the offertory was in aid of the Brunner Belief Fund. The Eev H. E. Ensor conducted the service in the eveni ing. Mr H. Wells was the organist. The decorations in the church were very chaste . and effective.
