The monthly meeting of the Waimakariri Harbour Board was held yesterday evening ; present — Messrs Feldwiek (chairman), Parnham, Hopkins, Wright, Doubleday and Hiatt. A letter was read from the Town Clerk, fixing the rate on the malthouse and section at .£2O. The .Lyttelton Times was appointed the official paper, for the ensuing year. A letter was received from the Navy League, asking the co-operation of the Board. The Pilot's report stated that there had been no alteration in the river, except near Askeaton, where he recommended the erection of a small groin. Messrs Nalder and Papprill wrote, advising that the lease to the Produce and Milling Company had been completed An extension of time was granted to the Works Committee for works in hand. The Pilot was instructed to have the bar sounded at once, as the Bock Lily had struck when crossing. A letter was read from Mr D. Buddo, M.H.E., in regard to certain sections along the river bank being vested in the Board, and promising his best efforts in the matter when the Board had made the application in proper form. It was reported that the tonnage for the month had been — Inwards 135 tons, and outwards 230 tons, and that the receipts had been <£3, and the balance at the bank .£23 4s 9d. Accounts amounting to .£ls lis were passed. The following committees were appointed: — Works — Messrs Parnham (chairman), Hiatt and Hopkins; Finance — Messrs Lissaman (chairman), Mathers and Horrell.
