Jones ' took four wickets for 110, Giffen three for 160, Reedman two for 47 and Travers one for 34. In the second innings, the South Aus- "- tralian team, in a minority of 28 on the first innings, has lost three wickets for 99, Lyons 46, Jarvis 11, Darling 32, Giffen not out 6, Hill not out 2, extras 2. The President's Cup match between the Midland No. 1 and College No. 1 was brought to a conclusion at the College oround last evening, when the latter won, [ after a close finish, by two wickets. The Midland second innings (with one man ' short) closed for 140 (T. A. Ryan 19 and , Munford 23 not out). The College had to r make 38 runs to win, and they obtained I that number for the loss of eight wickets, C. Ollivier making 12 and Fryer 8 not out. , T. A. Ryan and Manson bowled well for Midland. .
