UNIVERSITY SENATE.

m [Pee Peess Association.] WELLINGTON, Feb. 29. The University Senate resumed this morning. It was resolved that the appointment of examiners in New Zealand for the subjects of the law examination and of the medical examination should ;v be referred respectively to the committees on law and on medical questions. The following recommendation of the committee of the whole Senate on the Chancellor's address was agreed to: — "That the Senate do not accede to the proposal of the Director of the Lincoln Agricultural . College for the omission of the wor d ' undergraduates ' in Section VI. of the statute of B. Sc. degree in agriculture." The Rev W. J. Habens gave notice to move — "That it is inexpedient to increase the fees for degree examinations and to reduce or abolish the fees for diplomas." The Senate adjourned till Monday.
