" The League greatly regrets that such important offices as Minister of Justice and Control of Police should have been given to a member of the House so strongly sympathetic with the liquor traffic as Mr T. Thompson, believing that , such an appointment- i. calculated to, encourage the defiance of law •and order continually indulged in by the liquor traffic." It was also decided- to again hold at regular intervals prohibition meetings on Sunday evenings in the city and during the week in the various. suburbs. Systematic arrangements for working the electorate in view of the local option poll in November were discussed. Several new members were. elected, and a large quantity of other important business I was disposed of.
