EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the East Christchurch Football olub was held at the. Clarendon Hotel yesterday evening. There was a large. attendance, and Mr G*. H. Mason occupied the chair. Seventy-six new members were elected. The annual report stated tb°,t during the past season the club was not so successful in the field as it might . have been. A team had been sent to Wellington to play the Poneke Club, but owing to bad weatheu tho match liad to be abandoned. A match has been an-.-inged against the same club fpr Easter Monday next. The finances of the club were in a satisfactory condition, the balanco of assets ever liabilities being* £Q 25, 6 d. Social and train-ing-rooms would, be opened during the coming season. -The reporfcandbalancesheet were adopted. , ... . The elpction of officers resulted as follows :— -President, Mr R. H. Rhodes; vice-presidents; Dr Jennings, Messrs ,R. Allen, T. L. Smith, F. West and G. B. Ritchie; club captain, Mr G. H. Mason; honorary secretary, ; Mr ;.B. P. Gully; assistant honorary secretary, Mr J. H. Finlayson; -honorary . treasurer,. Mr W. Spring ; general committee, Messrs J. M'Kendry, G. Lorrimer, A. E. Craddock, A. Ebert, E. M'Gill,. E. Mallock and T. Chambers; auditor, Mr F. E. Hyman; delegates to the Canterbury Rugby Union, Messrs G. H.Mason, A. E. Craddock, C. E. Bird and D. Lee; delegate to Sports Protection Association, Mr B. P. Gully; Coach, Mr J. M'Kendry ; senior seleotion committee, Messrs J. M'Kendry, G. Lorrimer and W. Spring. The election of a junior selection committee was held over. It was decided to open the season on March 7. After dealing with routine business and passing a vote of thanks to the retiring officers the meeting closed.
