A female centenarian has just died in Fraserburg, where her whole life was spent. She well remembered Waterloo, and heard the story of dilloden from the lips of- her great grandfather.During the gales and fogs a Scotch passenger steamor foundered at the mouth of the Mersey after being in collision with an ocean-bound liner. The passengers and . crew were rescued by the liner. A Grimsby ' smack sank after collision, ten of her crew perishing. A vessel foundered near Cardiff, the crew swimming ashore. The driver of an Ashby train was blown from his engineand severely injured. The bicycle continues to grow in favour among European rulers. It is now learned that President Faure has become an ekr pert rider. When King George, of Greece, was in Paris recently, he and the President took lessons in an academy. King George afterwards purchased a machine and Bent it to Athens, where he is now often seen astride it. And later, when the King of Portugal— who is extremely portly— was a guest of M. Faure, the latter took him tc the same academy and had him instructed in the use of the wheel.
