THE CIVIL SERVICE.

A circular has been issued by Ministers to the heads of departments stating that for the future temporary clerks of twelve months' standing in the Civil Service are to receive sick pay and be paid for holidays in the same way as those on the permanent list. In case of temporary clerks of less than twelve months' service being placed on the sick list each case is to be judged on its merits.
