MELBOURNE TRAINING NOTES. [Special to Pbess Association. J MELBOURNE, Fbb. 27. The weather is fine overhead, but the tracks are heavy;* whilst the atmosphere is cold and raw, consequently no good time tests were . recorded in the final gallops for the Newmarket Handicap this morning. At Flemington, Arolia badly beat Wahine in a five*furlohg spin in lmin 7£sec. Courallie, Foliage, Gehenna, Acton and Disparity shaped the best over six furlongs, but nothing better than lmin 20£ sec by Acton was registered. Thunder Queen spurted over five furlongs in taking style in lmin Bsec. Lord Richmond wound up a splendid gallop over one mile and a half in 2min, sOsec. Moorite and Mundiva shaped very badly in heavy going; but Budgeree pleased his trainer, who fancies his Newmarket show. Slumber, Eiridsforde and Earlston were associated in a striding gallop of a mile, the first named, who moved very freely, having the best of it. Courallie and Maluma were well backed last night for the Newmarket Handicap at 100 to 8 each.. .
