PIRATES' FOOTBALL CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the Pirates' Football Club was held last night in the Oddfellows' Hall, Addington; Mi- W. J. Alpo, the President of tile' Clafy, occupied the chair. The balance-sheet showed receipts £82 Is 3d and expenditure <£24 6b Bd, leaving a credit balance of .£7 14s 7d. The assets amounted to £47 Is Id, and there were no liabilities. The committee stated that they intended reporting to the Sports' Protection Association members who were defaulters. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. It was decided that the ; ; club should disband at the end of March. ■It was also decided that the affairs of the '• club shonld be settled by a committee con- ■ sisting of Messrs Hooper, Dewsbury, ; Ashley, Simpson, Menzies and Duncan, who : should be recommended to' expend the i credit balance in presenting Mr J. | Crummy, the honorary secretary, with a ; memento. A resolution was passed con- ; demning the action of the Canterbury Rugby Union in forcing junior clubs to ' play seniors, or to cease taking part in union matches, thereby causing the winding up of a club composed of 180 members. A vote of thanks to, the chairman and the officers of the club closed the meeting. -
