Tlie Workers' Union has instructed its | General Secretary to forward to the I Minister of Labour a strong protest against ! the hasty way in which the various Coni ciliation Boards are to be elected, the Union j finding 1 it impossible, owing to the short I time at its disposal, to get the opinion of ! its members as to who should be nominated. Various^formalities in the Act which caused delay in sending nominations were objected to. The Winton Branch wrote, stating its intention to nominate Mr J. A. Millar, M.H.R. A resolution was passed congratulating Mr Hall- Jones on his appointment as Minister of Justice.
