Chinese Competition. — A meeting of the European Market Gardeners' Association was held in the City Hotel on Saturday evening. Mr Mitchell occupied the chair. Considerable discussion took place as to the best means for dealing with the question, and Mr W. W. Collins, MJELB., who was present, suggested that the combined Associations should issue a circular containing all the available official information regarding the manner in which Chinamen grew their vegetables. .The circulation . of such information would, he considered, have a good effect in educating publio opinion on the matter. He urged t>n the members the nece&ty of Binkmg minor differences in the various objects of their respective Associations and combining in their efforts to overcome the difficulty. A hearty vote of tharilcs Avas unanimously accorded Mr Collins for his services.
