A BRAVE BESCUE.
A former resident of Christohurch, Mi H. r Hiorns, recently distinguished himself by saving the" life of a boy at Biohmond ■ River, New South Waleß, under very creditable circumstances. According to the Riclimohd 'River, Herald the boy, who •was bathing in tne river, got beyond his depth and' sank.. .Another* lid gave the : alarm, and Mr Hiorns ran down to the river, and, without taking off his clothes, plunged in and rescued the lad, who waa in an exhausted condition when brought ashore.. - ;■.-' >
