A GRUESOME FIND.

On Sunday last three young men from Invercargill discovered the skeleton of a man, together with the boots he had worn and a portion of clothing, at Bushy Point, on the Waihopai estuary, some Bix or seven miles.f rom Invercargill, but on the opposite side of the river. The Southland Times states that alongside the skeleton were a pair of blucher boots with square toes, and in which a portion of the bones of the feet •were found. The skull was much decomposed and many of the bones of the skeleton are missing, but there are quite sufficient to show that they once formed the skeleton of a man. There were also two clay pipes and three knives alongside the bones. One of tho knives is a sailor's sheath knife, the blade of which is entirely corroded, but the leather sheath is in fairly good preservation, as are also the boots. A few coins were also discovered.
