The British India Steamship Company's steamer Chilka arrived in port yesterday afternoon from Wellington with part of an original cargo, of Eastern produce from Calcutta. She; is under charter to the Union Steamship Company and is commanded by Captain " Jacobs, with Mr Le Marchant .chief officer, Mr Bickett second, Mr Stoclcwell third and Mr Walsh fourth. Mr Stevenson is chief engineer. She is a vessel of 1477 tons net register and was built at Dumbarton in 1878.
