A RAILWAY TRACK PRESERVATIVE.
Tho Wanganui Herald states that Mr Thatcher proceeds to England by the Gothic to bring under the notice of tho railway authorities the "railway track preservative and conservator," invented by Mr W. T. Owen. The composition destroys all weeds, preserves the sleepers and prevents the rails, fish-plates and bolts and nuts from oxidising, thus saving still further money. It has Been tried for some two years on the Castlecliff railway, and the Government are now experimenting with it on the line between Patea ana Hawera.
