KAIAPOI.
(Before Mr Bishop, S.M., and the Mayor.) Prohibition.— An order was granted against a man, to take effdct in the Kaiapoi and Avon districts. Civil Case.— W. B. Taylor v. W Moody, claim M 13s 4d for wages. ' A contra account for .£8 11s 6d was put in, and after hearing some conflicting statements the Bench adjourned the case till next Court day, for the production of further evidence. A hundred years ago the West Indies supplied nearly all the cotton required for the. worjfl's markets.
