Jones, instead* of receiving an ovation as on the previous occasion of a win, was received with silence, while there was a demonstration against Thompson. The following are results :— Half-mile Open Handicap— J S.Whitel,W.Begg2 J T.Maw3. SLlmin 7fsec. One-and-a-half-mile Ladies' Bracelet— H. Thompson 1, W. H. Gibson 2, H Cameron 3. Won easily. Time-3min 34sec. Five of the riders fell, and White had his head cut. One-mile Novice-G. Maxwell 1, G. M'MilLm 2, G. T Andrews 3 Time-2min 3ofsec. Two-mile Provincial Championship of Otago—C. H.
