CHRISTCHURCH CYCLING CLUB.

A meeting of the Christchurch Cycling I Club was Held in the ciub-rooms last evenI'ing. Twenty-four members were present, ! and Mr A. C. Duff, captain, occupied the chair. - ' ' ' The programme for the race meeting to be held on Feb. -6 and 9, drawn lipby the committee, '"was approved. The principal items are the Two-mile New Zealand "Wheel Race, first prize .£2O; Ten-mile International Test Eace, Five-mile-Pro-vincial .Championship and a Tandem Race. The total amount of prize-money is J5150. The Secretary of the Lancaster Park Company wrote, stating that the Company could not see its way to reduce its usual charge of one-third of the proceeds of the gate for the use v of the park, but would be willing to meet a deputation of the club to discuss the matter. A deputation, consisting of Messrs Williams, Tomkins and the captain was appointed to wait on the directors. ■ Mr W.HopMnsf forwarded his resignation as treasurer of the club, and Mr F. Pannell was elected to fill the vacancy. Mr Baker's name was added to the committee. The election of officials in connection with. the coming race meeting was proceeded with as follows : — Referee, Mr R. C. Bishop ; judges, Messrs J. S. Kemp, H. Fleming and H. J. Baker j stewards, Messrs F. Arenas, A. C. Duff and G-. Bone ; clerk of the course, Mr F. T. Pannell; nonstarters board, Mr F. F. Lyle; starter, Mr W. G-. Williams ; ' telegraph board, Messrs W.^Wade, J. W. Johnstone and H. Cooper; lap-scorers, Messrs 'C. Pannell, W. Mappleby and H. Rossiter ; time keepers, Messrs A. Francis, E. Clarkson, T. ■Boyd and A. Jones. . A reception committee was appointed to wait on the Mayor with regard to the holding of a public reception to welcome the visiting cyolists. The committee was instructed to interview the Traffic Manager with regard to the running of excursion trains in connection with the race meeting. Other business was transacted, and the meeting closed. . '
