RANGIORA.
A commencement having been made with the harvest, the attendance at the Rangiora Market yesterday was lower than usual. The entry of live stock numbered 1500 sheep, 105 cattle and 90 pigs, all of which were sold at prices as follow:— Butchers' cross-bred wethers 11s 6d to 12s 6d, do ewes 8s to 8s 6d, fat lambs 10s 6d to Us 6d, cross-bred hoggets 7s 6d to 8s 6d, do breeding ewes 7s 6d to 8s 6d, do store lambs 8s to 9s Id ; cattle, beef equal to 20s per 1001 b, springers M 10s to £6, dry cows £2 10s to .£3 10s, two-year and three-year-old steers £4 14s 6d to M 16s 6d, eighteen-months to two-year-old .£3 10s to <£3 15s, yearlings to eighteen-months £2 to £2 15s, calves 25s to 30s ; pigs, baconers 30s to 375, porkers 15s, 18s to 28s, good stores 13s to 14s ; small stores 8s to 9s, weaners 4s to 6s. In the produce department the prices were . — Woolly sheepskins, 3s to 3s 6d ; pelts Is to Is lid ; hides and fat at market rates ; chick wheat 3s to 3s 2d bushel ; new oats Is 6d to Is 8d ; barley 2s 6d to 2s 7d; old oats Is 8d to 2s, crushed oats 2s' 4d to 2s sd; sharps 6s 6d bag ; bran 4s ; flourfarmers' Lines 18s, guaranteed 20s ; fowls— roosters 2s lid to 3s, hens Is 6d to Is9d; ducks 2s to 2s 3d; geese 2a 9d i to 3s.
