LYTTELTON REGATTA.

The final meeting of the committee -was held on Friday. The Commodore, Mr J. Joyce, occupied the chair. A letter was read from Mr M. Miller, owner of the yacht Pastime, complaining that during the race the Mascotte twice broke the rules, and on one occasion collided with him. The matter was referred to the Sailing Committee to inquire into. The honorary treasurer, Mr T. L. Smith, siibmitted a statement of estimated receipts and expenditure. The receipts amounted to .£557, and there would be a substantial balance to credit after all the liabilities had been paid. Prize money amounting to J2255 was ordered to be paicl, and accounts amounting to .£155 17s 6d were passed for payment. The sum of .£SO was transferred to the Jubilee Deposit Fjind, to be used in holding a two or three days' regatta on. the occasion of the celebration- of the Jubileei of Canterbury.- The ■matter of suitably ucknowledging the Mndness of Captain Coltar, of the Duke of Sutherland, and his officers, was referred to .a sub-committee consisting of the officers and Mr A. Ehind, chairman of. the Flagship Committee, and it was resolved to asl^ these gentlemen to meetlthe committee at" the .Canterbury Hotel on Wednesday at 8 p.m. The usual donation wriji voted to the honorary Secretary, and hearty votes of thanks were accorded to the commodore, vice-commodore, honorary treasiu'er, honorary assistant secretary, Mr Ashley (stationmaster), Captain Clark (harboiu'-master), the judges, timekeepers and starter, to Captain Falconer and to Captain Cornwell of the ship Pitcairn Island. After disposing of other routine business, the meeting terminated.
