THE RECENT INCREASE,
[Special to Press Association.] . LONDON, Jan. 10.
It is suspected that the increase of the fleets is not wholly due to the Transvaal, but is evidence that France and Russia intend to raise Egyptian and Turkish questions. Jan. 12!
Many leading authorities hold that the situation in the Transvaal has led to the increased fleet, and demand that a sum of five million* sterling should be devoted to the construction of additional warships.
