LOSS OF SHEEP.

The Otago Daily Times learns that the shearing,at the Omarama station, which is in the Kurow district, has disclosed the fact that the loss of stock through the Severe weather that was experienced last winter is much more serious than it was feared it would be. It was estimated that the mortality in the sheep on the run would amount to 13,000, and this was the figure Quoted to the Government in the application for a reduction of rent under the Pastoral Tenants' Relief Act, but the actual toss has proved to be 5000 in excess of that framber. A lambing on the same property had been expected of 11,000, but the actual lambing was only 1500.
