The fine ship Holljnwood was brought to a booth at No. 4 : Wharf yesterday. During the day a large number of nautical critics. went to the pier and had a look over the ship, and the verdict expressed waß fchat she is the best sailing ship that has yet visited Lyttelton. Captain Kidd's visit £0 the pott is perhaps not so pleasant as he might have wished, but it must be gratifying to him to. find that his judgment in heading for a handy port has been amply confirmed by the beßt expert opinion. A Btart will be made on Monday to discharge the cargo of coal, and it is understood that about a thousand tons will be taken out forward with a view of ascertaining the cause of the heat. All precautions are taken against an outbreak of fire, aud a couple of members of the local Brigade, with-their hose, are in constant attendance dpon the vessel.
