A THUNDERSTORM.

[Per Press Association.] - DUNEDIN, Jan. 6\

There was a terrific thunderstorm at Arrowtowi on Saturday. At Miller's Mat forked lightning destroyed all the fencing for half a mile, making deep tracks in the oTOund. The current struck a weatherboard house owned by William Scoles, ■burning it up completely. None of the occupants were at home at the time.

Otto, the mad King of Bavaria, who never leaves his castle, spends most of his time eating. He has a strong antipathy to both -water and clothes, and goes about naked. A "human arrow" is one of the sensations in London. A young woman is shot from a large bow and is caught by another young woman who is suspended head downwards from the roof. The Watford centenarian, Mr Thomas iToung, attained his 102 nd birthday recently. He is still'in the enjoyment of good health and retains his faculties. Lord Palmerston was among the last of the great gentlemen who, following, the example of the Duke of Wellington, habitually rode on horseback throughout London about their business.
