NEW ZEALAND CHEESE.
A writer in the Fleetwood Gazette, a Lancashire paper, recently bought some ' New Zealand cheeae, and seems to have been struck with its quality. He says:— "It is well known that Lancashire cheeseeaters give a great; preference to LancaBhire cheeße, but the preference stops at a ! certain point, and that point has now been : reached for New Zealand cheese resembling ' the best Lancashire very much in ' texture ' ( and flavour. The sample I bought was ■ quite equal to the finest Lancashire, and I happen to know that it was bought in London wholesale at 37s per owt. I have a very strong prejudice in favour of Lancashire, but really this New Zealand Btaggered my prejudices, and I have a notion that New Zealand cheese, if they keep up the quality and purity of flavour, will compete more strongly with Lancashire than will American or Canadian." The writer strongly urges the Lancashire cheeaemakera to improve the quality of the local atticle.
