The Orkney Islands are only held by England in pawn. They were transferred i by Denmark to Scotland in 1468 in pledge for payment of part of the dower of the Princess of Denmark, who was married to Jame3 111., Kingiof Scotland, under right of redemption by Denmark. There is no proof "of renunciation, bo that Denmark may be said to Btill retain her right of redemption.
