WELLINGTON NEWS.
[Per Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. For some time past a man named Enigge, who has a quarrel with his wife, a restaurant-keeper, has been appearing in the courts, accompanied by a friend named von Sohoeneberg, who posed as interpreter. As he desired to be both inter* preter and solicitor, the Courts paid scanty attention to him, and to-day the Magistrate warned both Enigge and Sohoeneberg that they would probably end by getting themselves into trouble for conspiracy. Following immediately upon this Mr Jellicoe announced that he had laid an information for criminal libel against Sohoeneberg, alleged to be contained in a letter written by him to Mrs Chemis. Thirty certificates of service and one certificate of competency have been granted to drivers of traction and looomotive engines by the Board of Examiners to-day. A large building is now being erected for the Harbour Board opposite the Post Office, combining the offices and stores. It has been deoided to put on an additional story at a cost of about £3000, for the purpose of providing specially lighted apartments in which to exhibit wool pre- j vious to sale. Besides this building a new shed has just been erected on the breaafc- j work, and several others are being lengthened.
