[P«b Pbbss Association.] TIMARU, Sift. 1. At the annual meeting of the Farmers' Co-operative Association to-day a satisfactory report was presented. The profits for distribution are £2174,, paying 6 per cent on the share capital and 1 per oent bonus on shareholders' purchasers. The retiring direotors were re-elected. INVEBOARGILL, Sbpt. 7. The first crushing at the newly-erected battery at the Morning Star Company's claim, Preservation Inlet, resulted in a fine cake of gold weighing 1260zs from 120 tons of stone, which included a large proportion of surface mullock. The Colonial Treasurer, on his arrival, was met at the station by the Mayor and a large number of citizens, and presented with an illuminated address of welcome. He was enthusiastically oheered. Mr Ward responded briefly. He addresses a publio meeting in the theatre to-night, and will subsequently be entertained at ft dinner.
