ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT.

[Per Peeßß Association.] AUCKLAND, August 29. The first match in connection with the New Zealand Association tournament took place this afternoon, when Wellington met Auckland. The game, which was, on the whole, interesting, ended in favour of Auckland by two goals to nil. The game, on the whole, was a fair exhibition of football, but the players lacked combination, A strong wind was blowing, which somewhat interfered with the play. Several infringements of the rules were noticeable during the game, the home team being the principal offenders in this respect.
