March 2, It te 8 proved by testa made by the Medical Clinics of the Universities at Bonn and Oreiiswald (Prussia), and reported by i)r Shulz, Professor of Pharmacology at Bonn, and Professor Dr Moeler, Director of the UfedJeal Cliaio at QreifswaK^ that only products that are satu rated with oxygen and free of acids, resinous, and other substances, adherent to primary distdlla tion, will develop the sanative qualities proper to the plant. All crude ofl. or so-oalled Euoalypti. Eztraota are to be classed aocordisg to the named authorities r.iaong the turpentines whioh are of insignificant medloinal value, and abandoned long since as an internal medicament. These crude oils, or so-called Eucalypti Extraoje, are dis* oornible— 1, By their dendenoyin pungent odour (whioh our product, the only genuine Eucalypti Extract, develops most freely through ita surplus of oxygen). 2, By their alcoholic, thin, and mobile appear, anoe being reduced in speoiflo density through the presence of adds. 8. By their taste, the result of the oontraotdn* tendency of resins and tanats.
