Winter Work Fund Entertainment.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,— l don't Ihinfc that much apology is needed in bringing the above object before the public, seeing the importance of the fact that the funds at the disposal of the committee mußt be augmented at once if the present workers under the control of the committee are to be kept employed mnoh longer. The committee have arranged for an excellent evening's entertainment, the offers to help, I am glad to say, being far in excess of the requirements, the committee, much to their regret, having to decline many kind offers at least for this occasion. Seeing that a feast has been prepared, it only remains now for the guests to come in force on Monday night to make the affair a huge success. The committee could do with volunteers for the disposal of tickets. What is required is a systematic canvass of the various suburbs. Hundreds would I believe, show ' their sympathy with, the object by purchasing tickets^ although possibly unable to attend, if brought prominently before them. I would throw out a hint how some of the lads at our primary schools might "lend a hand/' Saturday is an off day. If, say, a dozen from each school would volunteer to give an hour or two, and canvass their respective .districts, I feel sure that a record Bale would be the result. Any member of the committee, I am sure, would be pleased to supply reliable persona with tickets for disposal, and as the entertainment is fixed for Monday aight there is no time to lobo.
