rPas Press Association.! LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. WiDNXSDAT, August 14. AFTERNOON SITTING. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. BILLS. The Beprint of Statutes Bill passed its final stages. The Waimate Municipal Reserves Bill was committed, and reported with verbal amendments. The lion W. M. Bolt moved the second reading of the Ofcsgo Dock Act Amend- . ment Bill, the object being to erect cooling chambers, and improve the graving dock in Port Chalmers. Motion agreed to. The Wellington City Water-supply Bill, and Panui Reserves Bill were committed, reported without amendment, and passed their final stages. The Threshing- Machine Owners Lien Bill was committed, and on Clause 8 progress was reported, with leave to sit again that day week. The Hon W. M'Cullough resumed the debate on the motion for the second reading of the Criminal Code Amendment Bill (No. 2). The Bill was carried bj 17 to 16. Ayeß (17) : Hons Baillie, Barnicoat, Bolt, Swanson, Shrimski, Pharazyn, Kerr, Kelly, Bigg, Jenkioson, Wahawaha, Taiaroa, W. C. Walker, Feldwick, Adacd, Johnston and M'Cullouffh. ' Noes (16) : Hons L. "Walker, Richardson, Whitmore, Bonar, Scotland, Williams, Jeanings, M'Gregor, Morris, Stevens, .Grace/ M'Lean, Pollen, Holmes, Montgomery and Sir P. A. Backjey. ' The Counoil adjourned to next day.
