Mails close for the following places us under, subject to the necessary alterations : — Friday, August 16. For Dunedin, per Wakatipu and Corinna, at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 12.45 p.m. ; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Cheviot and Kaikoura, per Wakatu, at 7.45 "p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m. j guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. For Northern Ports and Australasian Colonies, per Waihora, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. Saturday, August 17. For Australian Colonies, and. also for United Kingdom and Europe (specially addressed via Brindisi), India, China, Japan, &c, per express, to connect with Wakatipu at 10.30 a.m. j late fee letters, 10.40 a.m.; guard's van, 11 a.m. train. Due London October 2. For Northern ports, per Penguin, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m. ; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. The next parcel mail for the United Kingdom, Europe, &c, will close about August 22, per Tainui. Due London, Oct. 2. The Katoomba leaves Sydney for Noumea on 27th inst., and the Victoria for Fiji on 28th inst. B. Kirton, Chief Postmaster.
