THE WELLINGTON GAOL.
A public meeting at Wellington laßfc night passed resolutions urging upon the Government the desirableness of handing over the Mount Cook Gaol and reserve for university college purposes, and protesting against the existence of a gaol in the centre of a populous city. A committee was appointed to obtain signatures to a petition to the Minister of Public Works.
