The -state of the grounds yesterday prevented any continuance of the Thursday Flag matches. The Canterbury Rugby Union has wired j to Wellington that August 22 will be a convenient date for the North v. South I football match, and that Lancaster Park can be secured fbr that day. I Owing to the Junior Flag match Christ- ' church Second v. North Canterbury Second being postponed till Saturday, August 10, the Christchurch Second wi^J play a team picked from the rest of the : club. The following will play for the i Second Fifteen :— Raphael, Williams, Gib- ' Bon, W. E. Styctae, Crawshaw, Eyebuck, i Wilson, T. Middleton, Cross, Beade), ' Hawkes, L. Hobbs, Piercy, L. A. Nicoll and Overton. I The following will represent St Albans ' v.Papanui — Pimm, Matheson (2), Nicholas, I Chisnall, Slatter, Farquhar, A. Smith, Doian, Hasell, Bradley, M'Cree, T. Smith, Gerard and Mahoney.
