Arbor Day. — At a Fp*cial mettirg vi the West Cbristchurch School Committee, held on Wednesday evpning, it was decided that owing to the wet state ot the grouud it would .not be advisable to give the school a holiday o i Arbor Day, AugUßb 7. Further considera<i n of the matter was postponed until tho next ordinary meeting, when a day will be fixed for doiDg some tree planting and giving the older children an object kßson on the Rdvan-tapi-s to bo derived from the cultivation of trees.
