Freetrade in New South Wales.
• [Special to Pekbs Association.] SYDNEY, Jult 81. At the annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce the Chairman said that there waa every prospect of improved times, and the volume of trade was steadily increasing and capitalists were showing more confidence. He made congratulatory references to tho rise in wool and wheat, which apparently were permanent, and he thought that there were bright prospects before the meat export trade. After some discussion a paragraph in the report to the effect that, in view of the extreme f reetrade proposals of the Government, the Chamber had modified its views on freei trade, waa struck out. The majority of the members held that, after fighting for freetrade so long, it would be impolitic to turnback just when about to secure per* feet freetrade.
