Avon Refuge.
The manager reports that th» folr lowing contributions have been received :— Mr Forrester, meat ; Mr fiopkins, meat ; Mr H. S. Harris, meat ; Mr Berry, meat ; Mr H. B. Lane, meat ; Mr Freeman, milk j W. 8., one hare $ a Lady, Armagh Street, soup and milk ; four hats left at Refuge door ; Mesßra Langdon and Steel, meat ; Mr G. Andrews, Colombo Street, sausages, saveloys and pies ; Messrs Nelson, Moate and Co., tea ; a Lady, Fendalton, oatmeal, sugar and firewood ; Mra Lisle, firewood ; Mra Slade, one sack of flour ; Mra W. Homer, Papanui, one ton of potatoes ; 56, Gloucester Street, bedding and mattresses; T.Y.C., cheese; Mr T. Fountaine, periodicals ; Messra Simpson and Williams, picture books. During the week we have sheltered forty-eight men. Tho Treasurer, the Eev W. Birch, deßires to acknowledge tbe following cash donations :— Hia Honor Judge Ward, £5 5b ; hia Worßhip the Mayor of Chrißtchurch, £2 2a i Mra Frostick, £1 le ; Mr P. Burke, 10a 6d ; Mr E. Ravenhill, £1 Is j Mr E. Hiornß, 10s 61 ; Mr J. Neill, 10a ; Mrs Inwood, Fendalton, 43 ; P.X.Y.Z., 4s ; 8.H., 2a ; a Friend, 6d.
