Alleged Assault.

I "WELLINGTON, July 28. * A young man named Thomas M'Cluskie was admitted to the hospital about mid* night, Buffeting from serious injuries alleged to have been inflicted by a man named Henry Bigg,, who has been, taken into custody. Tbe men had a quarrel, and Eig£, being worsted, took, up some road metal, witk which he felled M'Clußkie, and when on the ground a further assault was committed. M'Cluskie's condition was so serious to-day that it would not permit of bis depositions being taken.
