Benefit Concerts.

On Friday evening the United Bands of Christchurch will give a concert, in aid of the Winter Work Fund, in the Opera House, which has been kindly lent for the purpose. Admission will be by silver coiD, and the following programme will be submitted :— Selection, Engineers' Band; cornet solo, "Home, Sweet Home" (Hartsmann), Mr Thompson j Bong (comic), " We all Went Home in a Cab," Mr Foley; euphonium solo, "Cavatina," Mr Woods; seleotion, "Boberto II Diavolo," Sydenham Band; seleotion, "Cinq Mars," Garrison Baud; song, "Close," Mr Foley; bombardon solo, Mr Ablitt; selection, " The Tournament" (Bound), Stanmore Band.— On Sunday afternoon the Engineers' Band will give a specially selected programme of sacred music in the Opera House. Included in the numbers to be given are selections from Mozart, Mendelssohn, Chopin and Haydn. The admittance will be by silver coin.
