Rifle Shooting. — The Noith Canterbury Rifle Olub will hold a field day on Saturday, when the matches will be open to all comers. The Volunteers. — Mr Fairburn, formerly captain of tho Dunedia Irish Rues, has joined tho Christchnrch City Rifles as first lieutenant. It is expected thab a eecond lieutenant for the company wi 1 be obtained this week. The company is Bteadily recruiting, and eight of its members have joined the signalling claes instructed by Staff Sergeant -Ma jor Purvis.
