Market Reports.

Saturday's proceedings elicited nothing fresh in connection with wheat. The market ha 3 assumed a steadier tone, though prices remain on the some level. In recent sales merchants' etocks and parcels ex store have been the chief factors. Offerings from farmers have nob been large, and transactions that have transpired have been at 3a 6d to 3s 9d. One line of 6000 bushels of Pearl was sold sold at 3s 7d (with storage given in), and another of 2500 bushels at 33 7£d at Prebbleton. Medium and inferior old lots were sold at 3s 5d and 3s 6d/ f.o.b. The sale of a line of 400 Backs of Pearl at equal to 3a 9d, Lytteltcn, was also reported on Saturday. The demand for oata continues lively, and any offered are readily taken at the improved prices now current. The inquiry would absorb more than is brought forward by growers, and orders in many caseo have had to be executed from j Etore parcels. Priceß for the better descriptions have hardened all round. ! Holderß of beans are not pressing, the late ! heavy exports having imparted a more confident tone. There* are buyers for well'saved lots, and quotations have undeniably stiffened. We have nothing to note in connection with barley either in : milling or feed quality. There is a better \ inquiry for potatoes, growers demanding an advance on prices. Sales are reported at 25a for immediate delivery, and 303 for later in the month. In one instance we have heard of 32a 6d, but cannot write positively.
