A MORTGAGE CASE.
A telegram from Wellington says that judgment was reserved in Chambers yesterday on an application of the Farmers' Co-operative Association of Canterbury to compel tho Registrar of the Lani Transfer Office, Wei iogtoD, to place on the rogister a memorandum of mortgage from Mrs Hay, of the Chatham Islands, to the Aesociation. The mortgage was refused by the Registrar on the ground tha 4 ; Mrs Hay waß exceeding her powers as executrix in giving a mortgage.
