Japanese Bazaar.
The Japanese bazaar in aid of tVi« trust fund of the Sydenham Wesleyan Church was opened in the schoolroom last evening by Mr G. J. Smith, M.H.R. There was a large attendance. The stalls were arranged so as to represent a Btiv.ofc in. Tokio, Japan, and the young ladies who acted aa attendants were attired in Japanese cißtuuiO3. The room was lighted with Japanese lanterns, and the stage was very .prettily decorated with Japanese fane and nicknacks. The ladk'H in charge of the various stalls were : — No. 1, bamboo stall, Mißßes Brocklehurst «nd Shep!>ard ; No. 2, confectionery stall. Misses E. Scott and Proeser; No 3, fancy goods, MJsaoß Biliens and. Moisej Noi 4, Indian toyp, Mis9e.i M. Beiire and Timms j No. 5, Indian goods, Misses Hulbert and
U. Titnina} No. 6, doll stall, Mies Prosaer ; No. 7, Japaneßß ornaraont?, Miaten M. Aahton and A. Wills; No. 8, tray and fan stall, Mi3B Howe ; flower stall, Missea A. Pcott and L. Bear*. The Mißses Daltry, D. Peacock, Morse and Trigga had charge of a tastefully-decorated and cosy tearoom. A number of Japanese tableaux
were given by the children attending the Sunday school. Mica Brocklehuret superintended the tableaux, and Miß9 Hall presided at the piano. The stall fixings were kindly lent and arranged by Mr A J. White. The bazaar will be open again this evening.
