Labcent op a Clock. — John Seal pleaded not guilty tothe charge of having, on May 10, stolen a olook value lis Gd, the property of Joseph Frederick Stratz. The evidence showed that Mr Stratz mißsed a clock from his shop in High Street about 7.30 last evening. He raw the accused in High ' Street with the clock iu hie posses, oion, and after a short chase caught him. Mr Simpson held the accused while he (Stratz) went for the police, but the accused managed to get "away from Mr Simpson. Ho was ultimately arrested in a house in Durham Streot. Accused had one conviction for drunkenness against him, and was brought before the Court on a charge of vagrancy a fortnight ago, but was discharged. He was now sentenced to three weeks' imprisonment with hard labour.
