Thursday. This morning there was a very heavy frost.' Work commenced with Barmby and Golden Fleece being associated together over the Challenge Stakes distance for a real good gallop; they •both, moved in first-clara style, finishing together in Imin 353ec. King Wai worked alone. Silver Spec and Goodwood ran the last six furlongs of a round at nearly top, going well. Liberator put two mileß behind in very good style ; bo far his leg hap not troubled him. Au Bevoir was. picked up by Cannon Ball for the last four furlongs of a good mile done in Imin 48aec. Au Bevoir is improving every day. Nirvana, Pop'em and Artilleur did steady work. Lunn s team all worked slow. Empire, looking well, went, a useful two miles. Hippomenes and Outpost jumped off for a mile gallop on the grass, Gipsy Grand joining in the last six furlongs. It was a good gallop, and though they were not ridden out the time was only Imin 47*3ec. St John did a usefultaak well; Vogengang and St Louia ran a fast six furlongs. A lot of horses were 'merely exercising, A forfeit for the Northern Champagne Stakeß will be due to-day. Acceptances for the Easter Handicap and Autumn Steoplechasp, and nominations for various minor events to be decided at the Auckland Racing Club'a Autumn Meeting, close to-day. Beware 33seo was omitted from the handicap published ; yesterday for the Amateur Handioap Trot at ihe Lancaster Park Amateur Trotting Club's ensuing meeting.
